Mindful of the need to help the Ukrainian population, the Groupama Group asked its assistance subsidiary Mutuaide to organise a solidarity action in line with its mutualist values and expertise. As a specialist in the medicalisation of sporting events in extreme conditions, Mutuaide had the skills and logistics to set up this operation in a few weeks.
After obtaining information from Ukrainian doctors about their real needs, the choice was made to donate two mobile hospitals.
With a capacity of more than 20 cubic metres, they contain 1,800 kg of medical equipment, are complete and delivered “turnkey”: heating, beds, tents, resuscitation equipment, medicines, etc. For optimal and rapid use of the equipment, videos are available to the medical staff.
Several options were considered for supporting Ukraine, looking for the most appropriate one for the nature of the help we wanted to provide. With these hospitals, we are taking concrete and targeted action for the civilian population. Thierry MartelCEO of Groupama Group
Several options were considered for supporting Ukraine, looking for the most appropriate one for the nature of the help we wanted to provide. With these hospitals, we are taking concrete and targeted action for the civilian population.
These two structures, loaded in France on 18 April by Mutuaide’s teams, were transported to the appropriate health facilities thanks to the advice of the associations Idées sans frontières and Aide médicale caritative France-Ukraine.
Handed over to the “border guards” (the military equivalent of our civil security personnel in France), they were deployed on the territory after transiting through Kiev.
Once the war is over, these hospitals can be transformed into dispensaries or reception centres and continue to be used to compensate for the destruction of medical structures.
Our objective has been achieved by having carried out this action, solidary and useful at the same time, in just a few weeks. We are thinking of the people who will benefit and we are proud of the Groupama Group and all its employees. Jean-Baptiste DesprezCEO of Mutuaide
