Prevention

Prevention is a key pillar of Groupama’s support approach. True to its community-based mutual model, the Group mobilises its elected representatives and staff to anticipate risks, raise awareness amongst members and minimise the consequences of incidents. Elected representatives, in particular, play an active role in risk prevention and in supporting policyholders on the ground.

Our prevention initiatives

Road Safety

  • Centaure Centres: 1,500,000 people trained in safe driving since the first Centaure centre was established in 1984.

  • The ’10 de conduite’ Campaign: Groupama raises awareness amongst students at agricultural colleges about the correct habits to adopt when driving tractors or combine harvesters. This is a vital preventative initiative, given that tractor accidents remain the leading cause of accidental death in the agricultural sector.
  • Cycling safety kit: Groupama is committed to supporting all cyclists and helping them ride safely. To ensure cyclists can see clearly and be seen, Groupama has distributed more than 200,000 visibility items (light kits, fluorescent armbands, reflective vests) across France over the past three years.
  • The Liberty Rider mobile app, included in two-wheeled vehicle insurance policies, offers a fall detection system for users.
  • Groupama Prévention: The association was founded in 2026 and has chosen road safety as its main focus for 2026-2027.

The ‘Life Savers’ program

Over the past five years, more than 260,000 people have received free first-aid training through Groupama’s ‘Life Savers’ program. Delivered in France and internationally, this training equips participants with the essential skills to deal with life-threatening emergencies.
