Sustainability in our 2030 Strategic Priorities

Ensuring that as many people as possible live their lives with confidence is our very purpose. So our Ambition 2030 strategic programme sets a clear goal: “to build the leading mutualist insurance group for customer support”

Sustainability Strategy

That’s why a Sustainability Strategy has been defined: place sustainable development at the core of our ambition.

This strategy is structured around priorities aligned with three value chains:

Responsible Insurer

  • Proactivity, accessibility and attentiveness towards our customers
  • Prevention: reducing and mitigating harm to people and property
  • Transitions: protection solutions that respond to the changing landscape and lifestyles
  • Resilience of people and property: supporting more sustainable rebuilding and repair, while minimizing environmental impact

Sustainable Investor

  • The integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria into investment analysis and decision-making
  • The exclusion of major ESG risks and investments with the most significant negative impact on the planet and society
  • Financial support for activities with positive ESG impacts
  • The promotion of sustainable retirement and savings schemes
  • Sustainable management of property and forests

Corporate Citizen

  • A corporate citizen, supporting the local economy and community life
  • A rewarding experience for our employees and elected representatives, who in return provide us their full commitment
  • Reducing the carbon footprint of our operations
  • Respect for the planet and human rights by our suppliers
  • Respect for our commitments towards our suppliers

Emblematic Causes

For each country in which Groupama operates, emblematic causes have been determined to respond to the specific sustainability expectations towards Groupama.

In France, the three emblematic causes chosen are:

  • Supporting farmers in making environmental and social adjustments, to ensure food sovereignty while protecting the planet
  • Improving health and ensuring access to healthcare for as many people as possible
  • A long-term commitment to forests

An Integrated Strategy

As part of our business model, the Sustainability Charter sets out the governance and principles of our integrated strategy, designed to balance economic, social, societal and environmental performance, in line with our purpose: “We are here to enable as many people as possible to build their lives with confidence”
