Jean-François Lemoux, currently Groupama's General Manager of Insurance and Services in France, has been appointed General Manager, International Branch with effect from 15 July, replacing Michel Beauchesne.

“I would very much like to thank Michel Beauchesne for his outstanding work in laying the ground for the Group’s international expansion. The determination and professionalism he has shown in carrying out his role have, in particular, recently enabled us to obtain our licence in China”, observed Jean Azéma, Chief Executive Officer of the Group. “I wish him every success in his plans for the future”.

Jean-François Lemoux will also continue to carry out his present duties until his successor is appointed.

Jean-François Lemoux, 54, is a graduate of the HEC business school, and started his career in 1971 with VIA group, where he successively held the posts of Marketing Manager, Management Controller, Sales Manager and Life Insurance Manager.

In 1990 he was appointed Managing Director of PFA Vie, a role in which he simultaneously managed a number of cross-divisional organisations within the Group: Ewa Life, based in Luxembourg, Athéna Communication, Athéna Santé, and so on. He held this post until 1998.
In October 1998 he was appointed a member of the Board of Gan S.A. and Chief Operating Officer of Gan, in charge of GAN’s multi-line networks (agents and brokerage).
In September 2000, as part of the final stage of the construction of the new Group, he retained his responsibility for the multi-line networks and was also allocated responsibility for new Group operational divisions – Agricultural Insurance, Personal and Professional Insurance, Commercial and Institutional Insurance, Group Insurance, Group Distribution and Services.
