Regional Presence

Groupama confirms its long-standing regional roots through its local network and its support for local authorities, agriculture, the local economy and the community. Its mutualist model helps create economic and social value in the regions, whilst strengthening the resilience of local communities.

Mutualism at the Service of Local Communities

Our work in local communities is underpinned first and foremost by the mutualist ethos championed by committed local elected representatives: they act as genuine local links with members and local stakeholders. They help to strengthen social cohesion, prevent risks and support policyholders. During exceptional events such as weather-related disasters, our elected ‘assessors’ step in to speed up damage assessments and the processing of claims.

This regional network relies in particular on the work of 24,000 mutualist elected representatives and 26,000 staff members in France.

Groupama is enhancing their training and promotes mutualism as a means of differentiation and value creation.

Impact-oriented Mutualism

In 2025, Groupama continued to pursue its “impact-oriented mutualism” strategy, aimed at expanding the reach of its prevention and solidarity initiatives, notably through:

  • The “Life Savers” campaign, which has provided training to more than 260,000 people in France and internationally since 2021.
  • The creation of the Groupama Prévention association in 2026, which aims to strengthen risk awareness initiatives and the protection of people and property.

Sustainable Financial Support for the Regions

Mutual certificates issued by the regional banks have raised €634 million, of which €621 million was contributed by members, thereby strengthening regional investment capacity and mutual solidarity.

Impactful Economic and Social Partnerships

The Group is also developing numerous impactful partnerships with local economic and institutional stakeholders. These collaborations focus in particular on the agricultural sector, local entrepreneurship, risk prevention, innovation and support for local authorities.

These partnerships include:

  • A national partnership with Initiative France to support the creation and development of local businesses.
  • An agreement with the Gendarmerie Nationale focusing on road safety, cyber risks, theft and domestic risks.
  • Support for small businesses that stand out through their sustainable and innovative initiatives via the Trophées Pros awards.
  • Support for several regional start-up accelerators, particularly the Volt’terre programme.

A Major Contribution to the Regional Economy

The Group’s strong regional presence generates significant economic benefits. Groupama contributes to the regional economy and helps maintain local supply chains by prioritising local procurement and supporting micro-businesses and SMEs. Benefits paid to policyholders, direct and indirect jobs created, and tax contributions also participate in the development and resilience of local economies.

This economic impact is illustrated by the following key figures:

  • 13.6 billion in benefits paid to policyholders in 2025.
  • On average, 88% of purchases made within the region of each regional branch.
  • More than 41,400 jobs supported (direct, indirect and induced jobs in France) thanks to the activities of the regional funds, 92% of which, on average, are in their region of origin.

Philanthropy

The Group’s philanthropy programme, in constant development, supports numerous areas of public interest: health, research into rare diseases, agricultural research, forest conservation, culture, heritage, solidarity and a wide range of voluntary organisations. Every year, nearly 2,500 organisations benefit from this commitment.

Our focus on regional areas and communities also reflects in our international subsidiaries, where initiatives prioritise local engagement, health, prevention and community support.

Corporate social responsibility funding has reached €12.1 million in 2025, an increase on 2024, with key priorities:

€8 million dedicated to culture, amateur sport, prevention and solidarity;
€2.1 million devoted to rare diseases;
€1.3 million for health projects;
€0.5 million for agricultural research and innovation;
€0.2 million for forest conservation.
