The Groupama SA Supervisory Board appointed, as of 24 October 2011, with immediate effect, Thierry Martel, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Groupama SA and Christian Collin, Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Jean Azéma, formerly CEO of the Caisse Centrale des Assurances Mutuelles Agricoles and of Groupama SA since June 2000, has left the Group.
The priority of the new team will be to implement measures that will reinforce the solvency of the Group while, at the same time, continue to improve its operational profitability.

Thierry Martel, 48, graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and the Institute of Sciences Politiques Paris before qualifying from the Institut des Actuaires Français (French Actuary Institute). He went on to be an Auditor for the Commission de Contrôle des Assurance for 3 years.He joined Groupama International in 1990 and then moved on to working for a Regional Caisse (Mutual) in September 1995.  Before being nominated Director for Insurance Lines in 1999 he fulfilled various functions in Finance, HR, Communication and Institutional relations.Between November 2003 and March 2005, he was Group Director of the Audit and Actuary Division, within Groupama SA and then went on to Direct Personal Lines Insurance, again within Groupama SA. As of October 2006, Thierry Martel added Care Services to his Personal Lines Division and in 2008 became the Managing Director for Insurance Operations, France, which encompassed both Commercial and Personal Lines as well as the profit centres Gann Assurances, Gan Prevoyances and Gan Patrimoine.

On 1 January 2010 he was nominated as Managing Director of both Insurance and Banking Divisions.

Christian Collin, 58, graduated from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris and the Franco German Chamber of Commerce before starting his career in 1977 in the Finance Division of Ciments Lafarge France. One year later he joined the Tunisian Bank for Economic Development.In 1980 he joined the Property and Casualty Department in GAN as head of Organisational Development and then went of to become Head of Department for the  Corporate Secretary which he later became in 1991 for the GAN Group. It was during this role that he became Director for Strategy and Finance in 1996. In 1998, after the privatisation of GAN, he was nominated Director for Finance, Legal and Fiscal affairs as well as leading Strategic Marketing, Quality and Communication for GAN SA.As of January 2000, Christian Collin became Director for Legal, Fiscal and Logistics for Groupama and was responsible for the restructuring plan of GAN and the merger with Groupama SA.

He was appointed Group Corporate Secretary in September 2002 and took over responsibilities for HR and Strategy in 2005, Innovation in 2007 and Ethics and Sustainable Development, as well as Mergers & Acquisitions, in 2008.
He was appointed Director Finance and Risk for Groupama in January 2010.
